If, like me, you are always tired of entering a username, password, and then an OTP, you can understand how much the eCitizen system revamp has made logging in more time-consuming.
Let’s be honest, the upgrade steps requiring passwords to include a capital letter, a small letter, a number, and a special character were already enough for anyone to set an uncrackable password.
The OTP itself isn’t a bad thing, but we might need to remove it from our account to save time every time we log in.
To remove the OTP requirement from eCitizen, follow these steps:
- Log in to eCitizen using your user ID or email and password.
- Enter the OTP sent by eCitizen.
- Go to Account Management and look for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), then toggle off the setting.
- Enter your eCitizen password and save.
- Turn off login OTP, you can either choose to turn off for mobile number, email, or both
After this, you’ll go OTP-less every time you want to access eCitizen services.
