Annual inspections, required by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), are essential for safeguarding pedestrians, passengers, and drivers from accidents caused by defective vehicles.

For vehicle owners, drivers, and law enforcement agencies, verifying a vehicle’s inspection status is vital to ensure it is roadworthy. These annual inspections, enforced by the NTSA, are designed to prevent accidents resulting from vehicle malfunctions.

To get a vehicle inspected, owners must schedule an appointment through the NTSA’s online portal. They have 1 to 14 days to bring their vehicle to a designated inspection center. Once the inspection is complete, it is the driver’s duty to ensure the vehicle is not operated without a valid inspection certificate.

To verify your vehicle’s inspection status, you can choose from two convenient methods:

  1. Check via SMS: If you don’t have access to the app, you can use SMS. Pay Ksh 50 to Till Number 4201156, then send the transaction message along with your vehicle registration number to 0707637143. We will verify the status of your vehicle inspection and respond promptly.
  2. Using the NTSA App: Download and install the NTSA app on your phone. Log in, go to the vehicle inspection section, enter your vehicle’s registration number, and click “Verify” to check the status.
